Board Governance Training
June 29 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Those currently serving on a nonprofit Boards of Directors or considering Board service have a unique opportunity to sharpen their skills and learn from the pros, thanks to event organizers United Way of Yavapai County, West Yavapai Guidance Clinic Foundation, and the Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.
A “Board Governance Training” soon will be provided locally by Arizona State University’s Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Topics to be covered are those every volunteer nonprofit board member should know, such as Financial Management, Leadership Development, Board/Staff Relations, Resource Development, and more.
Supporting this effort to enhance the education of local nonprofit leaders (and potential leaders) are sponsors Alyx Cohen, CPA, Great Expectations Bookkeeping and Prescott United Methodist Church. Having a high quality training opportunity provided locally on this topic is unique, and the class has limited capacity. Fee is $75 per person; training is from 8 am to 1 pm, Thursday June 29 at Prescott United Methodist Church with food provided. Reservations required, online via www.yavapaiuw.org, or call 928.778.6605
